Runny Nose Symptoms
A runny nose is caused by excess mucus built up inside of the nasal cavity. The increase of the mucus is caused by several outside influences, which could include a cold or flu virus, an allergic reaction or a sinus infection. A runny nose is an uncomfortable but common symptom of illness. Have a question? Get an answer from a doctor now!
  1. Symptoms

    • Some symptoms of runny nose can include pressure in the bridge of the nose or behind the eyes, excess mucus draining from the nose, itchiness around the nose, pain or pressure in the nasal cavity and nasal congestion. Mucus may have a clear, watery consistency or be a thick yellow, white or green color.

    Causes

    • Runny noses can be caused by several different factors, some of which include a cold or flu virus, an allergic reaction, cold weather, crying, spicy food or strong odors.

    Prevention

    • Most doctors recommend washing your hands frequently to rid them of bacteria and germs that can cause illness. You may also try carrying around hand sanitizer for times when washing is not an option.
To avoid an allergic reaction, wash your hands and face after coming in contact with allergens. Remove any clothing and bedding, as well as any other article that had come into contact with the allergen, and wash everything thoroughly.

    Treatment

    • For colds and flus, there are over-the-counter medications that contain pseudoephedrine, which is effective in temporarily eliminating excess mucus. Many are mixed with pain relievers to eliminate some of the discomfort associated with a runny nose.
For allergy sufferers, several over-the-counter medications contain histamine blockers that can help to eliminate the itchy, runny nose common to an allergic reaction. Nasal sprays are a popular form of allergy treatment.
For natural and nonmedicinal treatment, try saline sprays/drops, peppermint tea, a menthol-based rub under the nose or even blowing your nose frequently to expel the discomfort of mucus temporarily.

    Warning

    • If pain is severe or is accompanied by a high fever, call your doctor, as it may be a sign of infection, which will need to be treated with antibiotics. As always, check with your doctor about any treatment before trying one on your own to find out which is best suited for you.

  1. I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers..
